To start 2024, we are thrilled to announce that we are transforming from the York County Literacy Council (YCLC) to the York Literacy Institute (YLI.) This rebrand represents far more than just a new name and logo—it’s a reflection of our evolution, our commitment to progress, and our dedication to serving our community more effectively.
YCLC has been an integral part of our journey. It encapsulated our core values, our mission to empower individuals and our dedication to fostering learning within our community for 47 years. However, as we expand our horizons and broaden our scope, we realize the need for a name that not only embodies our roots but also embraces our vision for the future.
The decision to rebrand wasn’t taken lightly. It stemmed from a comprehensive evaluation of our organization’s trajectory, goals, and the aspirations we hold for those we serve. York Literacy Institute encapsulates our aspirations for a dynamic and inclusive adult learning ecosystem, where every adult is encouraged to take initiative, pursue their goals, and contribute meaningfully to society.
This transformation is not just a change in name; it’s a reaffirmation of our pledge to create an environment where learning knows no boundaries. Our programs, initiatives, and commitment to empowering our adult students remain unwavering.
We’re excited to embark on this new chapter as YLI, continuing our journey to inspire, educate, and empower. We thank you for your continued support and look forward to making an even greater impact at York Literacy Institute.
