York Literacy Institute proudly announces the appointment of Jason McSherry as its new President and CEO, effective February 20, 2024. McSherry, a seasoned leader in the realm of healthcare and communications, emerges from an intensive national search to take over the organization.
Jason McSherry steps into this role after a successful tenure at WellSpan Health as their Director of Clinical & Operations Communications. His impressive career also includes pivotal positions at Memorial Hospital (now UPMC Memorial) and the York County Economic Alliance. A dedicated community advocate, McSherry’s past involvements include board memberships at York Literacy Institute, York Habitat for Humanity, and March of Dimes, showcasing his commitment to the enrichment and development of the York community.
The mission of the York Literacy Institute is to teach literacy skills in English, empowering adults for successful engagement in their homes, workplaces, and communities. Offering a range of services from in-person and HyFlex classes to one-to-one tutoring and digital language labs, YLI is at the forefront of adult education and literacy in the region.
