Celebrate York Literacy Institute’s 50th Anniversary During Give Local York 2026

 

We’re excited to participate in York’s 24-hour day of giving – GIVE LOCAL YORK – on April 30 and May 1 from 7 p.m. to 7 p.m. York Literacy Institute is proud to be one of the over 300 participating non-profit organizations working to make York County a great place to live.  

This year, we are also celebrating a milestone anniversary of serving the York County community for 50 years. If you share our passion for improving literacy in our community, please support us during Give Local York. 

Your support during Give Local York will help us continue to offer services to York County Adults in need of literacy education. We provide free classes and tutoring for adults to learn English as A Second Language, Civics, Digital Literacy, Adult Reading, and preparation for High School Equivalency testing. 

There are many opportunities for you to take action and help support us this year: 

  • JOIN US FOR OUR OPEN HOUSE on Thursday, April 30 from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. at 1416 6th Avenue, York. It is free to attend and no RSVP is required. Just stop in an enjoy refreshments, activities, tours and meet some York Literacy Institute staff and students. 
  • TELL A FRIEND (or 2!) about our organization and why you support us. Word of mouth is a valuable way to expand our network. 
  • CONNECT WITH US on Social Media and Post, Like, and Share – we’re active on Facebook, Instagram, and LinkedIn. 
  • HELP US FUNDRAISE on your own Give Local York page linked to our organization. To sign up, visit our Give Local York page and select the “Fundraise” button to get set up.
